Elise BishopI have been training and riding progressively from age ten. My connection to horses and understanding of their needs is second nature to me. I learn so much from each horse and I want to give back to the horse and make their job and their life work best for them.
I have been fortunate to ride and train with some of the best trainers available including Nicole Chastain, Jeremy Steinberg, Sue Halasz, Sandy Hotz and Cheryl Whyllie. I have also had the opportunity to clinic under Eric Chalamet and Jean Francois Favier both of the elite Cadre De Noir of France. I have studied dressage steadily in my quest to understand the horse and the art of riding and have worked with as many trainers and ridden as many horses as possible to take the very best and meld it into my philosophy and style of teaching and training. My philosophy is simple, keep the horse moving forward with a healthy mind and body. I have worked with scores of horses over the years and brought many horses out of a sour or depressed state of mind back to a willing and content working partner for their rider.
I am a competitive rider who has ridden through Prix St. George and have shown succesfully through Fourth Level in Colorado, Wyoming, California, New Mexico and Arizona. I have achieved my bronze medal and am working on my Silver Medal. I love coaching and working with students in the show ring in their own quest to achieve their competitive goals.
I enjoy riding the experienced horse but love the challenge of starting up a young horse or "fixing" a horse that is having trouble. Along with riding I am experienced in the use of long lines which I find a great asset for the horse.
I have been training and showing horses for the past eight years. Horses are my passion and Dressage is one way I express that.
